Still remember my mediocre experience at M Hotel Singapore a few weeks back? I promised that I would share another hotel experience with you, which was much better than that. After 2 nights at M Hotel, we switched to Novotel Singapore in Clark Quay. It was our first time staying there and we didn’t have high expectations since the rate was cheaper compared to M Hotel (SGD208++/night vs. SGD260++/night). We actually booked for a Standard King size bedroom, but were upgraded to a Premier floor King Bedroom upon check in! According to the receptionist, the amenities are similar but the room is more spacious. We were delighted!
Premier Floor King Bedroom
The first thing we noticed when we entered the room was, how big the bed was! Now, this is what I call sleeping in comfort – an actual proper King size bed. 🙂 There were also 4 pillows given instead of just two, with two of them being extra large and fluffy. They’re perfect as back rests while watching the flat panel TV located in front of the bed.

The bathroom was clean, modern and spacious, with a bath tub and shower stall to boot. I love how the huge mirror had a backlight surrounding it, like an illuminating frame, giving us perfect lighting especially during make-up. 🙂 The shower stall was equipped with a rain shower and was decently sized such that I did not have to knock into my elbows during my bath. Also, complete set of toiletries were provided including toothbrush and paste, cotton buds and pads, shampoo, soap, moisturizer and even a bottle of body scrub!

In the wardrobe, we were provided 2 pieces of clean bathrobes, 2 pairs of bedroom slippers and extra pillows. On top of that, an electronic safe, an iron and an ironing board were also kept in this wardrobe.

We thought the mini bar was pretty standard, but it had a mini coffee-making machine! We were also given a box with 3 coffee capsules to be used with the coffee machine, but unfortunately we did not manage to try them out due to our activities-filled days. 😛

Now that we’ve finished exploring our room, we finally walked to the windows and looked out, and saw the Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer right in front of us! How amazing! If that’s not impressive enough, we had the gorgeous view of the river and Clark Quay too, which looked even nicer at night.
Gorgeous view from the room
Without much ado, we unloaded our luggage in the hotel and left to explore Clark Quay, which was barely 5 minutes walk away. Here are some pictures taken at Clark Quay, before we took the train to go to Marina Bay Sands for the evening. 🙂

Look! You can’t miss Novotel if you’re in Clark Quay. It stands majestically among the low-rise buildings around the area, and you won’t ever have to worry about getting lost here. Just look up and find your way back. 🙂

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay in Novotel Clark Quay – the service was wonderful (they allowed us to use their printer for free), the location was great, the beds were comfortable and the view from the room was amazing. Our only gripe is that at night, we could hear a somewhat mild, booming sound from the clubs below (since we stayed there on a Saturday night), but nothing that would deter our sleep. With all the great benefits, we would definitely return to stay here the next time we visit Singapore!
