Recipe: Wholesome Home-Made Breakfast

  • Sharebar

Without realizing it, the weekend is here, and one of the things we usually look forward to doing is making home-cooked breakfasts! Saucer has almost perfected the technique of preparing poached eggs just the way we like it, and he’s put that skill into use now for our breakfasts. One of his simple recipes is making toasted sandwich with lots of goodies on it, what we call a Wholesome Sandwich.

Breakfast

Our wholesome sandwich

To prepare this, the ingredients used are (serves 2):

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sausages
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • Handful of baby spinach
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Dash of pepper

Breakfast

 Toasted sandwiches for 2

Steps:

  1. Boil a pot of water and remove from heat.
  2. Place 2 eggs into the pot for about 10 minutes to half-boil them.
  3. While waiting, grill the mushrooms and sausages on a frying pan or in an oven until the sausages are brown with a crust.
  4. Toast the bread.
  5. For serving, place some baby spinach on the toasts, followed by a slice of cheese, sausages, mushrooms and finally the half-boiled egg.
  6. The idea is to place hot items directly on the cheese so that it will partially melt on the bread and hold all the items together.
  7. Finally, top it of a dash of pepper and it’s ready to be served!

Cooking and preparation time ~ 15 minutes.
