Win A Trip to London Olympics with Samsung Global Blogger

  • SumoMe

As you all know, this year marks another historical year in the field of sports. Yes, the biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympics, will happen this year in no other than London. The first time that I was really into Olympics was the year 1996 when it was held in Atlanta. Back then, I was rooting for the badminton duo, Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock, since I was a huge badminton fan. It was such a pity that they did not manage to win in the finals but I guess getting the silver medals for Malaysia for the first time in history was pretty impressive too. If you’re a big Olympics fan, or if you have never been to London, here is a good chance to score a free trip there and experience life in the middle of the most exciting event of the year.

Jamie Oilver is a fan of London too

The people at Samsung are searching throughout the world for curious, imaginative and motivated people to invite to London for a once in a lifetime trip to experience the London 2012 Olympic Games. If chosen, the Samsung Global Blogger will be based in the capital during the biggest sporting event of the year. While there, he or she will have the chance to search out the best London has to offer during the Games and share it with the world via video, photos and written entries on specially created blogs. To me, it sounds like the perfect way to get to know a city.

The first step to becoming a Samsung Global Blogger is to submit a 30-second video in English of you telling Samsung why you would be great at hunting out the best stories London has to tell during The Olympics. Some useful tips to look out for:

  • Confidence and energy in front of the camera
  • A passion for your subject matter
  • Imagination and originality
  • A good sense of humour
  • A social butterfly – do you use Twitter? Or talk to the world on your own blog?
  • The ability to tell a story well through video and the written word

After the submission, the celebrity judges will choose a handful of finalists, who will then be given a second challenge of creating a video report looking at how their hometown is connecting with the Olympics.
