A couple of weekends ago, Saucer and I went to Singapore for a short weekend trip. During our 3-night escapade, we stayed in 2 different hotels, the first being the M Hotel in Tanjung Pagar. It was our first time staying in this hotel and even though we had corporate rate, the charge was SGD260++ per night, which we thought was not cheap.

We requested for Standard room that came with either a double or twin bed, so we chose the double bed. To our dismay, the double bed was (smaller than) a queen-sized bed instead of a king bed. Being used to sleeping king-sized bed, we found this bed to be significantly smaller and less comfortable. Also, the mattress was on the hard side, with pillows that could use some fluffing. We decided to ask for a king bed room but were told that we had to pay a premium for the upgrade, so we had no choice but to accept the bed for what it was.

To be fair, the hotel had most of the amenities that one would need such as dressing table with a hairdryer, study desk with LAN cable (internet is chargeable), wardrobe with bath robes and slippers, a safe, mini bar, coffee-making facilities and some toiletries. Even an iron and ironing board were provided, highlighting that this was indeed a business hotel.

Another gripe that we had was the size of the shower booth. Saucer thought the shower booth was too small for his liking. I don’t blame him, for even I found myself occasionally knocking my elbows to wall of the shower stall when I was in it. Those who are bigger sized would definitely feel the lack of space here. One thing that confused me though, is that if M Hotel is positioning itself as a business hotel for people on the go, why did they build a bath tub in the bathroom? Businessmen on the go would typically not have the time or patience to wait for the bathtub to fill up for their bath. For this matter, I would much rather they build a bigger shower stall and remove the bath tub instead, but that’s just my two cents’.

Overall, even though M Hotel did provide all the basic amenities that one would need for a hotel stay, it’s definitely far from being a comfortable one. Considering the price that they’re charging, I was definitely expecting for more. Stay tuned for the review of my second hotel stay in Singapore, which was relatively cheaper!

Found this video the other day while I was surfing, and saw how the upset girl was throwing the picture frame of what seemed to be her boyfriend and the teddy bear that he gave her. It’s amazing how something so sweet at the beginning can turn out to be sour in the end, don’t you think so? What do you think happened that caused her reaction? Perhaps he cheated on her? Perhaps he didn’t call after going out with her? Let’s wait and watch out for the sequel!
